Entreprenurial Kids

Don't you just love it when the Universe shows you evidence of what you have been focusing on?
Since reading Amanda van der Gulik's book, Insider's Secrets, which is about teaching children about money - lots of entreprenuial kids have crossed my path.
(By the way, I think you can still get a free copy of her Allowance Secrets if you missed out - I had great fun writing my chapter!)
I thought I share a few inspiring stories about entreprenurial children with you - and I love to hear yours. If you know of other entreprenurial kids let me know.
James and Erin are two children I came accross at our local farmers market. Newly arrived from the USA they are keen to raise money towards a trip back to see their Grandparents. So these two enterprising youngsters have been baking up a storm. And they are healthy options to the usual home-baking we see at our market. Granola Cookies, Savoury Muffins, Walnut Bars to name a few, are all packaged in brown bags which the kids have decorated.
They even have their own little slogan - "Baked from the heart". Of course they were also very yummy! Seeing these two chatting away to the locals, and raking in the money, really made my day. I love seeing kids who think outside the box, who are prepared to put effort into making their dreams happen.
"You can't get anywhere by sitting on your ideas"
How inspiring is that? This little pearl of wisdom come from another inspiring young man that popped into my world, Jason O'Neill, who at the age of nine developed Pencil bugs. Pencil bugs are cute little heads that fit over the top of your pencil. This young lad has since gone on to be an inspriational speaker, has been featured in two of Jack Canfield's books about young entrepreneurs.

He runs a blog, a website, has expanded his product range, and inspires kids and adults with his ability to give things a go. AND he donates part of his proceeds. Jason is still at school! Imagine what other great things he will achieve in his life time!

The last little story I'll share came to me when my Mother sent me a beaded bug in the mail. Not my cup of tea actually, was my first thought, until she shared the story behind it. She found these bugs at her local flea market, and got talking to the elderly woman on the stall.
Turns out her G
randchildren make these Beaded Creatures and all the money raised goes to sponsoring children via World Vision. So far, these kids sponsor 15 children! How cool is that? Who says you can't make a difference! These kids clearly know they can have a powerful effect in the world.
The lesson for us big people is that our kids are an inspiration for us. Children have an innate belief that anything is possible, it tends to be us that squishes their creativity, either by being too practical, or not taking the time to foster their ideas. I am sure each of these kids have great support behind them, but the bottom line is they acted on their inspiration and made something wonderful happen.
What are you inspired to do today? Do you know of other inspirational children? Let me know I'd love to feature a few more of them.
Wishing you a Wonder~filled Weekend,
