Vision Boards & Kids

Thursday, December 10th 2009 @ 3:00 PM    post viewed 337 times

I have been having an awesome time lately with a bunch of school kids teaching them about Vision Boards.

Vision Boards are a way of creating a visual reminder of the goals we are aiming for. And kid just LOVE it. No surprises a large number of Christmas Presents featured on their boards!

But I was really touched with the number of children who popped up images of helping kids in other countries, or helping grandparents.

Some kids used it to focus on skills they are trying to master, or
aiming for a holiday overseas.

Dream building is such a powerful tool to teach our kids. Too often I have heard parent's be dream busters, telling their kids they are being unrealistic. I always challenge them saying, do you have a crystal ball, how do you know it is not possible?

Kids don't have the same kind of realistic baggage we often carry
and can manifest their dreams surprisingly quickly. I remember a
little boy who badly wanted a puppy, but no way did his parents want a dog in the house! He persisted in holding his dream and then a new neighbor moved next door with a new puppy. He was able to play with it, walk it, spend as much time as he wanted with her.

Eventually she grew up and had puppies of her own, and guess who got the pick of the litter?

Anyway, back to my fun day with the kids - We did lots of vision boards on big posters, using magazines to cut out pictures, photos of the kids, and lots of big power words jumping out of the page.

Some of the kids got to build their Vision Boards on computers using very cool Vision Board software.

This software is such fun and very easy to use. It walks you through creating a dynamic vision using photos and images, and they have extensive libraries or you can upload your own images.

You then create an affirmation to encapsulate the goal, adding a
power word. You can play around with the photo effects to create
something inspiring and dynamic.

The finished Vision Board cab be printed, emailed, viewed on a mobile or digital photo device or can be saved as the desktop on a computer! So all these kids are emailing their Vision Boards to their friends!

I came home inspired to make a new one for myself!

If you want to find out more about the Vision Board Software I used, visit the site, there is a video that shows you the step by step process of how a Vision Board is created.

I do get a small commission from the company - all helps to keep our sites running!

Whether using cardboard or software, Creating Vision Boards is a fabulous family activity, very affirming and supportive and having the family energy helping to fuel the dream . . . .

Wow! Anything is possible!

Wishing you a Wonder-filled Day,

Annie Desantis
